Wrose Live, a weekend of music at The Wrose Bull and The Bold Privateer, takes place in Wrose this weekend, Friday 25 and Saturday 26 July.
The Saturday event will take place outside at The Bold Privateer pub on Wrose Road, featuring live music from 11:30am until 4:30pm. The Wrose Bull plays host on Friday 25 July, with live music from 8pm. It builds on the successful Wrose Summer Festival of recent years, which has attracted hundreds of people to enjoy quality live music performed by local musicians.
A mixture of original music and covers will be performed throughout the day by local bands and artists, including, Lily Gill, Mojo Jack, Vince Vega and the Road Dogs, Junk Drawer and Cheryl Holland. The Flaming Pies will take to the stage at The Wrose Bull.
Bren Travis, of Live at the Lounge, is organising the event at The Bold Privateer, “We’re bringing the best local artists and bands to Wrose for a day of live music and fun. It’s always a great atmosphere at The Bold Privateer and we can’t wait to see everyone.”
The event is being funded by Wrose Parish Council, which is chaired by local district councillor, Councillor Alex Ross-Shaw, “We’re really pleased to be delivering another summer event in Wrose in the new form of Wrose Live. There’s always loads going on in Wrose and what better way to celebrate the summer during our year as UK City of Culture than with a weekend of live music!”
Tammy Marie, who runs The Bold Privateer, said, “The Bold Privateer has always prided itself on being at the heart of the community in Wrose and we can’t wait to give people a warm welcome to our pub this weekend.”
Katie, Manager at The Wrose Bull, said, “We’re so pleased to be part of Wrose Live this year. We have live music on the last Friday of every month so it’s great we can be a partner of Wrose Live and let people know there’s so much great stuff happening in our community.”
