Wrose Parish Council works to enhance the visual impact of the area’s historic centre.
A modern cable box located at Towngate, in the heart of historic Wrose, has for several years looked rather out of place as well as attracting graffiti. To enhance the area, the Parish Council has partnered with local artist, Jenna Greenwood, and the local volunteers who maintain the area, to reimagine the cable box as a vibrant work of art.
The result is a wonderful mural featuring a colourful array of flowers that transforms the uninspiring box into an attraction in its own right. The project has been well received by the local residents who have given very positive feedback about their new piece of community artwork.
Ruth Thompson, Wrose Parish Council Clerk, said, “We’ve been really delighted with the positive response from local residents at the new artwork. It complements the fantastic work of local volunteers in maintaining the area with flowers and planting and greatly improves the historic Wrose Conservation Area.”
